Item Description:
Taken from the letter that accompanied this casting:

”Since Emory and Luther Snyder founded the company in 1916, the pouring of grey iron castings was synonymous with “Littco” or “Littlestown”. This product / company association was established by casting a broad range of items from tools and vises to hand grenades and industrial machinery.

Although it was very difficult to turn away from a tradition nearly three quarters of a century old, our tremendous increase in business and efficiencies in the manufacturing of aluminum castings along with the rapid decline of our iron foundry business made the decision to stop our iron casting production inevitable.

Only 289 iron plaques titled “THE IRON AGE OF LITTCO 1916 – 1990” were produced. This plaque poured on the last day of our iron foundry operations, commemorates a very important history in our corporate life. This grey iron plaque is presented to you with our sincere appreciation for your contributions to Littco. Without our customers, employees, suppliers, representatives, stock holders and many loyal friends – this milestone could never have been reached.

Each plaque bears a registration number on the back. Your name and the registration number will be kept in a log permanently maintained by the company. If your plaque is given to another party, it is requested that Littco be notified so the registration may be updated.

We hope this memento will not only bring back feelings of personal satisfaction as a result of your association with Littco; but most importantly, as a constant reminder of our appreciation of you.”
